Where GENEALOGY MeetS simplified ORGANIZATION

Hi, I’m Jen, a genealogy researcher based in New Orleans, Louisiana. I help families untangle their Southern roots and turn scattered photos, documents, and stories into an organized, documented, and easy-to-share collection. Whether you need help tracking down an ancestor across the American South or wrangling a lifetime of digital and print photos, this is where research and photo organizing come together to preserve your family’s story.

FROM FAMILY STORIES TO DOCUMENTED ROOTS

MY GENEALOGY JOURNEY

My interest in family history began in childhood, listening to my grandmother describe her life and the relatives who shaped it. I spent countless hours studying her photo albums, noting each face and trying to determine how each person fit into our family. Those early experiences laid the foundation for my genealogy work, further education in history and genealogical studies, and ultimately led me to establish Gumbo Roots. My goal is to transform your scattered materials into a cohesive, well-documented family history that feels both enduring and deeply meaningful to the people who inherit it.
